FROM KITCHEN TO BIOFUEL: USED COOKING OIL (UCO) COLLECTION

We recently hosted a Used Cooking Oil (UCO) Recycling Initiative as part of our ongoing commitment to championing sustainability within our community. The initiative was spearheaded by Cypark, who served as the driving force behind the programme, with strong support from FatHopes Energy and KWAP in enabling efficient and responsible UCO collection and recycling.

The initiative provided an accessible and environmentally safe way for individuals to dispose of their used cooking oil, which is often improperly discarded and can cause significant harm to drainage systems and surrounding ecosystems. Through this collective effort, all UCO collected will be channelled into producing biodiesel, an eco-friendly, low-carbon alternative fuel that contributes to a more sustainable energy future.

The drive successfully collected 281.1 kg of used cooking oil, contributed by individuals working within our office towers. This achievement reflects the strong environmental awareness across The Intermark and our shared commitment to reducing waste and protecting our environment.

Following the positive response to the initiative, Intermark Mall is now in discussions with FatHopes Energy to explore a long-term partnership that will further strengthen our sustainability efforts and provide an ongoing avenue for responsible UCO disposal.
